B&W Equine Vets, who are based near Tetbury in Wiltshire will present her owner Mary Tweddle, with a voucher for £400.00 towards the stud fee of an SHB(GB) graded stallion.
Bred in Ireland by James Bradley of Co Cork (Gurtera) Annie Clover is by the Hanoverian Newmarket Venture out of a mare by the RID Clover Hill. She was acquired by Mary Tweddle as a four-year-old and ridden by her daughter, British team rider Nicola Wilson, to four-star level. The pair represented GB at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, was 8th at Lexington CCI4* in 2015 and 8th at Pau CCI4* in 2016 both with double clears. They have also won the Blair Castle CCI3*, as well as Bramham and Burgham CIC*s.This year Annie, who is now graded into the Head studbook, had a foal (ET) by the SHB(GB) graded German thoroughbred Duke of Hearts (Halling-Konigsstuhl). Nicola has recently acquired the ride on Annie’s five-year-old full brother Gurtera Mattie Clover.
B&W Equine Vets will also present the two second highest marked mares with vouchers to the value of £300.00; they are the Irish Draught mare Woodclose Rhianna and four-star event mare Faerie Dianimo, who both gained the same mark in their respective gradings.
Woodclose Rhianna (Grove Warrior-Gort Boy) was bred by her owner Sue Benson from Yorkshire. She is out of the mare Woodclose Silver Storm who was the top graded SHB(GB) mare in 2012. This year Rhianna’s foal Woodclose Anisa, by the thoroughbred Andes, was champion foal and reserve supreme in-hand hunter on her only outing of the year at the Great Yorkshire Show. Rhianna (above) is now is foal to the RID Aye Aye Skipper.
Faerie Dianimo (above_ bred by her owner Trisha Rickards, is by the Hanoverian Dimaggio out of the SHB(GB) Elite Head studbook mare and advanced eventer Faerie Dazzler (by Catherston Dazzler). Faerie Dianimo, ridden by New Zealander Jonelle Price competed at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In 2014 she won the CIC3* 8/9 year-old championship at Blenheim and followed up a month later by taking 4th place in her first four-star at Pau. In 2015 she was 2nd at Luhmuhlen CCI4* and this year after a light season was recently 10th at Pau CCI4*.
As well as receiving vouchers from B&W Equine Vets the owners will also receive a voucher from SHB(GB) for the registration and parentage testing of the mare’s first foal. These vouchers are awarded to the owners of all mares that grade into the Head Studbook. This year there was an extremely high standard of mares forward for grading resulting in 38 mares being added to the Head Studbook. http://www.bwequinevets.co.uk/66/Willesley-Stud-and-Reproduction-Services
