SHB(GB) welcomes four new stallions
11 Apr 2019
We welcome four more newly graded stallions to the studbook all with very different pedigrees and bloodlines
- Tomatillo (2013) owned by his breeder The Hon. Finn Guinness of Biddesden Stud near Andover, passed his grading held at the West Wilts EC. Six-year-old Tomatillo is a clone of the international event horse Tamarillo who with William Fox-Pitt won both Badminton (2004) and Burghley (2008) and represented team GB at the 2004 Olympic Games. Tomatillo’s genetic make-up is Anglo Arab; the sire is the Anglo-Arab Tarnik and the dam-line is from the Anglo-Arab Mellita who was by the well-known thoroughbred sire Master Spiritus. He will be a suitable choice for those wishing to add blood, quality and stamina to their mares’ genes.
- KL King of Jazz (2016) also passed the grading; the grey, bred by owner Bob Livock of Kington Langley Stud near Chippenham, is by the stud’s former stallion and showjumper Honeybrook Crosby out of the KWPN mare Ursula by the Jazz son Olivi.
- Ekwador (2000) is a former international grand prix dressage stallion who with Katarzyna Milczaerek represented Poland at European and World Championships and the London 2012 Olympic Games. Ekwador should however be of interest to breeders of all sport horses as he carries valuable thoroughbred blood being by the leading thoroughbred Heraldik, sire of many successful event horses. His dam is by the former international showjumper Corofino I. Ekwador is available through Elite Stallions.
- Springs Spirit a ten-year-old eventing stallion is also available through Stallion AI Services. Spring’s Spirit owned by John Chambers of the Springfield Stud in Shropshire, also brings blood to the mix as he is by Springfields Symphony a son of the thoroughbred and former HIS premium stallion Kings Composer. Spring’s Spirit is out of the KWPN mare Pobedy who was by the Selle Francais Calvados.
