Two new stallions for the SHB(GB) studbook

Catherston Oakley bred by his owner Anne Dicker of the Catherston Stud in Hampshire passed the autumn stallion grading. He is a son of Anne’s homebred stallion Opposition Bombshell (Fleetwater Opposition-Dutch Courage) out of the mare Catherston Deodara by the former grand prix dressage stallion and British dressage team horse Dutch Gold – formerly ridden by Jennie Loriston-Clarke.  A winner in-hand C Oakley won his first BE affiliated BE80 at the end of last year with Aimee Stunt in the saddle who also rode him for the grading. Twenty-year-old Tajraasi is a son of Trempolino (Sharpen Up-Viceregal) out of Inca Princess (Big Spruce-Hail to Reason). He is a full brother to the national hunt stallion Germany who is the sire of the current leading Irish runners Faugheen (trainer Willie Mullins) and Samcro (trainer Gordon Elliott).  Of interest to sport horse breeders Tajraasi is the sire of the four-star event horse Alfie’s Clover who with owner/rider Richard Jones finished 7th at both Burghley and  Bramham three-day events in 2018 with a double clear jumping at both. Richard also owns the Tajraasi sired Kilballyboy Bob with who he was 4^th in the eight-nine-year-old three-star championship at Blenheim last year.
