2008 RULE AMENDMENT
In the light of legal representations objecting to the retrospective nature
of rule 14 on page 16 of the 2008 Members’ Handbook and page 8 of the Show
Regulations and Official List of Judges’ Book, Sport Horse Breeding (GB) has
resolved to alter rule 14, deleting the words ‘ 1st January 2005’
and substituting ‘1st January 2008’ so as to remove the
retrospective element in the rule change.
ERROR IN RYDALE SHOW SCHEDULE
It has come to light that the judge
published in the schedule for the Ridden Hunters is incorrect. The schedule
states, Ridden Hunter, Ride, Mr J Conifey, when it should state Mrs J
Hubbard.

BOOK MARE BALLYNEETY DUCA DIES
The Retired International
Advanced Event mare Ballyneety Duca (Ella) has sadly died. The mare owned by
the The Collins family was listed in the BE top 150 mares of all time. The
highlight of her competitive career was 2nd at the Punchestown
International Three Day Event in 2004 ridden by former British Young Rider
Nicholas Collins. In 2005 Ella was ranked in the top five SHB (GB) graded
mares. The mare produced two fantastic foals by the French stallion Jaguar
Mail, a colt in 2007 and a filly last Thursday. The colt has already proved
to be a winner by taking a Sport Horse Foal Championships last year.
Nicholas said “ It’s been a tragic time for us loosing such a wonderful
mare, we are lucky to still have a living foal thanks to Twemlows and
Johanna Vardon of The National Foaling Bank. Johanna has been fantastic in
finding a surrogate mare for Ella’s filly foal, fortunately for us the
surrogate mare and foal have taken to each other exceedingly well.”
